The Empty

So, now that I am back in the Chicago area, we have had a ton of rain this August and a torrential downpour last week.  While I was bucketing water out of my window well, I was wondering whether I should try to find some gopher wood and gathering pairs of animals.  We have some minimal but utterly frustrating water damage and no downed trees.  Many others in the area do have downed trees and worse.  Many have been without power for days.  I took drive along the river and many houses on the river side of the road were under water.  You can see the tops of some park benches in the river that are along the river walk normally.  The water of the might Fox River is also almost touching the bottoms of a couple of the lower bridges here.

I sure hope this means we get some decent snow this year :)
