Bizarre Foods!

There is a great new show on the Travel Channel called Bizarre Foods with Anrdew Zimmern. This show is so much fun to watch as Andrew travels to different places and finds the foods that we Westerners - Americans in particular - may find a bit weird. So far I have seen parts of his show on the UK and all of the Asia one. He eats plenty of stuff that I wouldn't eat, but some I would try. At the end of the Asia show, he actually met his match and could not bring himself to eat some durian in Malaysia.

Holiday Spirit

Well, we roasted a turkey this weekend with dressing (some may say stuffing), mashed potatoes, gravy - all homemade. Yes, I know it was a few days early, but damn it was good. I even made a turkey stock from the leftover bird and used that for soup tonight. Nummy. I love my Soups & Stews Cookbook. Since we'll be away visiting family over Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to do the turkey dinner and also started putting up Christmas decorations. The TinyMan was especially excited about this. He found a Santa hat amongst the decorations and decided he loved to wear it. He also ethusiatically helped build a gingerbread house that he could not then keep his hands off of :). It was all a lot of fun.
As a bit of a holiday bonus, I booked a ride on the Polar Express for us to go to the North Pole. The TinyMan is super psyched for that. Every time we get in the car now, he asks if we are going to the north pole. It's really cool to see him starting to understand the holidays now.
